The coatings being able to be detected with one's sole or some instrumen are usually referred to as "leading" and "caution" strips. Leading strips indicate the tangent of the sidewalk or pedestrian are, and the paths branching from thereof. It is made up of strips parallel to each other.

 


Caution strips are to be put in front of the subject of the caution; obstacle or danger, and are to be laid down in such length that it is not possible for someone to accidentally step over it (min. 60 cm). It can be horizontal or diagonal to the tangent of the crossing area.
